How to Handle the Life Storm beyond Your Control

Calming and Handling your Own Storms in Life

What to first do when going through storms in life

First is. everything is going to be fine,  handle yourself first. Be calm, a lot of things happen beyond our control, it’s of no use to waste time and energy especially in blames or regrets. We must develop a calming attitude and perhaps it can serve us.

One certainty to be aware of is, this storm will indeed pass and sadly it may also tear your entire life apart, rip your home from the ground, smash your beliefs into the ground and leave you standing there completely bereft. But as long as you are still standing, everything will pass and the things that are yours will fall in place. Just taking a few deep breaths can go a long way.

How to Handle the Life Storm beyond Your Control

Don’t calm the storm, calm yourself

The words you speak to yourself during a storm are the building blocks of your strength, so be kind to yourself, be gentle, have faith and speak only life. In the end, you are all you’ve got. What you say about yourself is what you will be. If you tell yourself that you are finished, dumb, ignorant, ugly, depressed, or mad, then that is what you will be.

Instead, tell yourself that you are a king/queen, an intelligent, handsome/beautiful being, an inspired, strong and resilient person, a builder, and that you will be. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” ‭‭(Proverbs‬ ‭18:21,‬ ‭KJV‬‬)

In life, you are all you have: especially if something changes, such as a loss of your job; don’t be surprised if your best friend at work forgets you! So always be prepared to make it on your own! Stand proud and move on! You might be very surprised who your real friends are.

Why you shouldn’t Depend on any Friend or Relative

Sincerely, having people you call friends betray you is one of the hardest things to handle. On one side you need to be cool but not with any degree of passive aggressive force. Creating a curve ball is the only way to navigate through situations

that require a breaking down of false personas. Only in truly difficult situations do you get to know yourself and those so called friends or family and a word you may not have heard hear often, acquaintance.

For some reason, that word has escaped the zeitgeist and been replaced by either ‘associate’, ‘colleague’ or even ‘friend’. All three of those words are way below the best friend you can find. So this means you befriend yourself and if you can do that, your growth in all things will grow exponentially and you will be who you should become. The only problem is someone who is standing in your way… And that person is you! YOU decide what happens during your own storms in life.

Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced. Those who cannot remember the past are likely to repeat it. Oftentimes when the situation is manageable, it is neglected, and when it is thoroughly out of hand, we apply too late the remedies which then might have effected a cure.

As a Christian, I have always known that Jesus will calm the storm but what then should I do?

In Matthew 8:23-27 NLT

23 – Then Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with his disciples.

24 – Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.

25 – The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

26 – Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.

27 – The disciples were amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked. “Even the winds and waves obey him!”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭12:27-31‬ ‭NIV‬‬ – Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.”

Humanity is a truly spectacular race. It has always needed a challenge! We crave the impossible. We are so curious about the things we don’t know. There must be storms in life, and there must be you to dance in the rain.

“Don’t calm the storm, calm yourself.”

Yes indeed, it will pass… Move on… Time is precious and so are you.
